Hi Yaniv,
I think the first step has to be asking
for volunteers who are capable of each
main task. For example:
1. hardware
-- select chips
-- design circuits
-- build prototypes
2. on-board software
-- microcontroller code
3. PC software
-- filters
-- interface
I don't see much point in writing specifications
for the device unless the people who are
writing them are sufficiently knowledgeable to
do the actual work.
I'll volunteer to supply PC software.
I'm involved in another EEG project at the
moment, and the way we are starting there is
by setting a desired price point; now, as a
second step, we are studying available chips to
see how much functionality they can provide --
sampling rate, channels, etc. Only after that
is complete will we write specs to match the
capabilities of our selected chips.
