That would be ok.

Scaling of the y-axis would also be fine, because the RS232EEG
has 10 bit resolution and I want to measure noise at very low
amplitude.

No. Ignore them for now. The purpose of the switches is to
signal special events by the user and insert markers in the
eeg-record.
