Hi Vlad !

Nice to have you in the group. Nobody has applied for FDA clearance yet. The
device exists as a prototype and currently uses optocouplers for optical
isolation from the PC. Iīm thinking about using IrDA instead of optocouplers
because this will give 100% isolation and security. On the other hand, most
people would have to buy a special dongle to make their PCs IrDA compliant.
So this question hasnīt been resolved yet. The software side of IrDA is quite
complicated but thereīs a free stack available for Ubicom microcontrollers and
I think it wouldnīt be too difficult to implement.
