I have downloaded the english windows version of eagle4.01
and could not install it at all. It seems to be a problem of the
install-shieled program, that generates incomplete installations,
if the windows\temp directory contains very much files. (see below
postings of the cadsoft eagle support group )
After deleteting the 1000s of files in the temp-directory I repeated
the installation. This time eagle 4.01 could be started successfully
and could load the old 3.55 files (*.sch, *.brd).
I suppose you have experienced a similar problem.
