One major obstacle to overcome is safe optical isolation of the power inthe
computer and the electrodes on the head.

Another t hought-- Hershel Toomim and Jeff Carmen have been using HEG
hemoencephalography, based on optical sensing of changes inblood flow in
the brain.

Might it be p ossible to adapt this technology, which does not require
direct electrical connection to the skin, as another approach to
neurofeedback explored by this project. Of course, it there is an interest
in this, then the name may have to be reconsidered, and existing patents as
well.
