Subject: [buildcheapeeg] Open Source

First of all, let's see if everyone agrees with and understands "Open
Source" concept applicable to software. According to Open Source
Definition, (http://www.opensource.org/docs/definition.html) and GNU
Public License (http://www.gnu.org), open source is basically
software whose license terms allow you to read, compile, redistribute
and modify the source code (contrast this with "public domain"
source, which has no restriction whatsoever). Is also assumes that
source code and/or executable(s) can be sold or freely distributed by
anyone.

Does this apply to hardware as well? This group definition is: "this
group is dedicated to design and marketing of a low cost 2 channel
personal eeg machine .all work done here is on voluntary base !!! the
aim of this group is that a personal eeg machine will be sold at $100
price range." So everyone does not mind that 1) the device schematic
will be freely available; 2) anyone can modify the schematic 3)
anyone (insider or oursider of the group) can manufacture, sell or
give away the devices developed by the group. Do you all agree on
both hardware and software Open Source principles?
Thanks,

Vlad Tokarev
