Hi All--I just read through the last 20 or so posts, and felt the
urge to make a couple of comments that I hope might be helpful to
someone.
On the topic of the computer not being cetified along with the
machine, I can certainly see the point if wanting accurate
information if you're using the apparatus to Dx brain death. But
Lexicor has certification, and their equipment is used for
quantitative EEG, and many people run their NRS-24's on a variety of
machines. I've never heard this particular issue raised by anybody.
Mostly all you hear is grumbling about how hard it is to get Lexicor
software to run in the presence of Windows 98 and up, and about how
you can't get it to run at all on modern Compaqs or on any machine
IBM ever made, etc.
I really don't imagine there would be any legal problems with
"OpenEEG" as a group or website name, but one could argue that it is
indeed the biofeedback aspect rather than the EEG aspect of the
project that's most central, so maybe the name should be
OpenBiofeedback or something.
As for getting electrodes and paste, I imagine that large mecial
supply houses would carry thest things in any country. Or check with
the EEG lab in the nearest hospital or neurology clinic and ask where
they get theirs. I think the little 10 mm disks are pretty standard
worldwide. You will want a mildly adhesive paste such as 10-20.
There are other brands on the market but their names elude me at the
moment.
