Is it radical too ? Is it harmless ? Is it agressive ?
Please comment ; the "cheap" in the title must to mean something ...

And there should be no wars, slavery, killing, theft or unkindness......
Really, it is impossible to make that rule. And, if an individual chooses
to go to a practitioner, it is not just the EEG hardware and software that
the person seeks, but the expertise.
When someone comes to me, I offer them 29 years of experience with
biofeedback, not just hooking up electrodes and turning on the software.
But it would be possible to develop the software so the screen can
periodically flash a screen that says something like:
This EEG system was sold to the owner with the express agreement that the
maximum fee per hour in 2002 dollars will be $_____.
Of course, that will keep some preactitioners from using it and that would
be a shame.
Another way to handle it is to make a home use version and a clinician
version. That's hard to do since you want the home user to have the full
power of the technology.
One way to deal with it might be to sell the system with only so many
sessions allowed, and then more money would have to be paid. That money
could support the website, continued development, contributions of free
systems to charitable organizations (like I am working on getting free
equipment for Dharamsala.)
Or, you can treat it like planting a seed to do good in the world. If some
health care providers buy it and then charge for their services, even
excessive amounts, (and who is to decide what is too much for a person to
charge for his or her time) they will still be making the technology
available.
Maybe, the way to handle it is to flash on the screen that the OPENEEG has
been designed to be a home trainer, that anyone can buy for $xxx by going
to the following websites.
You know, another issue is tech support. Who will provide it? How will it
be paid for? WHo will handle returns, repairs, irate customers, complaints
to the FDA?
Better build those considerations into the price.
BTW, I am not an engineer and have been deleting many of the tech side
messages without looking at them, if you want to make sure I see what you
are writing, make sure it has an appropriate subject heading.
