It seems the group is joining all the benefits suggested by members in the path of building the project -
a BASIC model - for expand information and give cheap material for info. research ( e.g. brain mouse )
and an ADVANCED Model for nfb and clinical purposes .
Forgetting the BASIC model, is forget the main goal of build a Cheap EEG for large diffusion ;
and, stop in it , is to forget the future . Let's consolidate the BASIC model paying more attention for
the parts :
testing Input Stage ( with good equipment , or in electronic labs )
testing Digital Stage
testing all the device ( in biological/neuro labs)
practice test ( all the members)
I think the group should not concerning about law issues yet (specially health damages) ;
it was good to have discussed it ,
but there are already some interested propositions (to be confirmed soon) in which great institutions of health will be
responsible for that after some tests that are being scheduled ( 4 countries, up to now) . Liability may
be solved in this way, but not the distribution yet . And if all comes forgood , the impact of the project
will be enough for dismiss ourselves from manufacturing
( except if someone works or wants working with administration of it,
which seems not to be this case !)
Only the plans of design, in a well structured homepage, will serve to distribute the idea ( and we can put all
the our additional requirements in how to use it - see Joerg's message http://groups.yahoo.com/group/buildcheapeeg/message/547 ) , and we may keep the focus and better and use EEG creatively).

For standard montages, 19 or 20 channels would be nice. What about
the parallel port? I know, 8 opto-isolators, but for this it would
be worth it. This one probably really would need the medical
certification, though. But, come to think of it, a lot of us are
trained as researchers and could most likely put together the
necessary studies and field trials, which should reduce the cost
quite a bit.
