Just a thought.
People are spending money on web site, parts, etc.
How about if there were a way for people to pay in advance for the first
production run? The money could be put in an account and some of it used to
pay for parts for the prototypes.
Those people will, by putting up, say $50 each, get the first access and
lowest price for the units they pay for.
It's great to do this project with the idea of making it as affordable as
possible, but it would be better if we could support the eople contributing
their time by not requiring them to spend their money on parts.
Also, eventually, we will have to pay to get a first production run of a
board. We'll need to source the parts and then pay to get them assembled on
the board, then those components will have to be assembled into a case.
This financial aspect is also something that needs to be plannned for as
the project matures.
