This posting should be viewed as a sort of progress report. As far
as I'm concerned, nothing is "out of the picture"--I just haven't
located any fully shielded electrodes. However, on the Grass
electrodes the conductors are not shielded. They come in whatever
lengths you want from 1 foot to at least 4 ft, and end in shielded
plugs that can either be attached to the equipment or to a shielded
cable. Nicolet Instrument Co. sells a very similar product that I
personally don't like as well because the conducters are a bit larger
in diameter and stiffer, and the attackment to the electrode is
covered with a shaft of plastic that seems womewhat awkward. I did
find an old note from a purchase I made of Nicolet electrodes 2 or 3
years ago. The price then was $70 for 10 electrodes.
BTW, according to the Grass literature, Ag-AgCl electrodes are
supposed to be the best for picking up low-freq signals. I presume
that wold include the EEG range.
