Hi
This link has some screenshot of a Pacman used by Brainmasters.

Hi Frans,

PacMan/NFB works in a simple way. As
long as the brain state is on the desired side
of the threshhold, the PacMan eats the little
circles at a predetermined rate, say 2 per
second.

** yes, in the original game packman automaticly eats
the dots when he enters/touch the dots.
But you can move packman to the left, rigth up and
down.
I have once seen such a nfb game on TV, it was used
with a boy who suffered from ADD.

I Think the boy was training smr (focus/concentration).
IMO
If he would generate smr packman would move, if he
would relax pack man would not move.
How about left, rigth up and down ?
If packman encounters an enemy he must move away
from it.
How would you explain that ?
Ik know one could manipulate packman by means of
different waves, i don't know wheter this is logic in nfb.
My focus is on add, focus, attention, concentration and
peak performance.
In a (therapeutic) game pack man must be able to
move in 4 directions. How do you change the direction.
Moving in a line, packman would move (hor) to the
left, (perhaps) by generating smr, and (perhaps) to
the rigth by NOT generating smr. But in this case
packman could not stand still, whats more, if no smr
is generated, packman would automaticly move to
the rigth. (but i could be done).
But how does packman move up or down ???
By generating (or not) a different wave ???????

In your writting the desired state could be smr (left)
or not smr (rigth). would there be an other wave ?
(up, down)
what about reaction-time ?..if a player cannot activate
smr in a given time, packman will loose (no bonus).
In the game packman encounters many monsters who
will come as near as possible, and kill PM.
Monster move at a given speed, therfore it would be un
fair to not adjust the sensitivity for PC/player.

** perhaps the question should be:
If whe use packman in a game, will the game be of
any use for therapy. If so, what kind of conditions ?
(ilness etc)..and how must whe program the game ?
If generating smr, then athe same time other wave (s).

I am working on this, but on the other hand, it would be
in-logic to re-invent the wheel. Whe need to know more
about the waves. If generating smr, at the same time
(in)decline alpha/theta/beta ??. combination of brain-
waves ?, (in)decline alpha/theta/beta (at diff. or spec.
locations)...together with ???
Whe need some nfb manual so as to understand the
different terms, conditions, combinations etc..this is
important if one needs to write code.

Best regards.
Frans

Best Regards.
Frans.

Good morning,

Thinking of packman, i asked all members once to
explain to me how does packman/nfb works. no reply.

But today i migth have found the clue. It would take to long to explain, but in the next months i will work on software for
rs232, and also on some (little) games, including packman.
Perhaps i will be off the web for some time, but i think i can
build packman/nfb, in fact if the basic software is okay then
packman sould be a piece of cake.
When i'm back and have done some code writting i will
send it to the group.
regards frans.

hi
again the idea of linking bfb/nfb to games is not new .
what's might be new is :
1.very low cost eeg machine (openeeg)
2.connection to a game that's very sucsessfull withouth nfb
(hopefully), and maybe giving acess and ideas to big games companies
and availbility of cheap eeg.

3.the purpose of the combination of nfb/bfb is to make the game
more fun , that's it , not training it in something else .
i think this way the game would surely be more interesting .

sincerly
