Hi Moritz,

I have been looking at the MCP2150 data sheet, and it looks like
a very good fit. If anyone else is interested in checking this out,
the data sheet can be found at http://www.apgate.com/elec/
company/ct_5531.htm. It converts 9-wire "cooked" serial to IrDA,
transceiver not included.

So the next puzzle piece is having something this will connect to
on the other end...
