If it is easier than VB, no problem, otherwise, might as well
purchase Handspring Visor and Palm forth, or walk to the end
of the line, and start waiting for the linux gurus for the
software side solutions.

What linux version would it be, and what flavor, 2.2 , 2.4
or forthcoming 2.5 to 2.x, and would it be mandrake, red hat,
hard hat, soft hat, debian, fabian, and would it use KDE, Gnome, or
MicroWindows, LessTiff, MoreTiff, MooTiff, or what ?

Compiling and hunting all of those compiler versions, library
versions, is so much fun, isn't it.

Open Source, Yes, too much OS divergence, No.

OS needs to be standardized, not the apps running on it.

Between all of the human flavors, there is less than
fraction of a percent of divergence in the hardware/
kernel biological code. That allows compatibility,
yet allows creatively divergent software to written on the same
OS.

I guess so. It is much better to loose me, than that community
apparently, though, very reason for the ideas was that it appears
that it takes quite long for that Linux community to get "in gear"
and start their great efforts, that usually are great, just that
they are bit sluggish, as hardware gets obsolete in just few years,
like we saw the case to be with the HAL, we must shoot for simplest
possible software effort that is the fastest to develop, with best
of the RAD tools, otherwise, the hardware has become obsolete before
even the outline of the great linux software design is planned,
and way before it is coded.

I guess so, of the 3, have no idea what the 2 latter are though,
and I am sure you were not talking of EE tools in relation to
the Allegro.

I'd rather wear a comfortable warm hat, now that it
is winter.

But also take care of loosing the increased bandwith
of the USB, so, if one can not have the 12 megabit
transfer rate, then, no USB is better than USB->Serial.

I hope people will assist Joerg/Moritz of making the 2-layer
pcbpool prototypes, and trough that route, benefit everyone
on the list trough bringing manufacturing board-blanks for
everyone one step closer to reality, that is usually the first
goal in these type of group projects, such as EFI332 was years
ago, and many other group/kit projects.

If such is not one goal, then, what is the use/goal of this
project ?

I guess the goal of this project should be to achieve working
prototype and then the board blanks as fast as possible, and
then, linux gurus can do the software, and call it project
phase II, at which time, most of us regular mortals just have
to look by and wait.

Glad if I made anyone laugh with my relict-style ideas, they
say laughterlengthens life, and may also reduce stress and
raise 5-htp.
