I think I've seen this once or twice with Yahoo. I can't remember
exactly the situations, but I think my mail provider was having some
problems or down-time at the time. My interpretation was that Yahoo
doesn't try too hard to get the message through if it fails a few
times.
It's hard to be sure, though.
