Well, all I am doing is searching forwards for another 0x03 byte if
there isn't one where I'm expecting it. This has been good enough for
the data files I've tried so far. If this turns out not to be good
enough, I can improve the algorithm. In any case, so long as the user
knows that something has gone wrong (i.e. it is indicated on the
display, for example, with a bright red line), they'll have some
understanding of anything strange that appears around that area of the
display.
Once I've got the thing basically working, then we can look at
improving this code, okay ?
My aim is to get this working and cross-compiled for Windows so that
you (and others) can test it and make suggestions.
