I'm making some progress with my recorded brain-wave viewing app.
Here's a screen-shot:

This is from "DOWNEY.DAT", with some alpha waves, and delta waves too.
There are other sections with much more theta and delta than this.
I know Jim wanted something with no artefacts, but almost everything
is an artefact with this program! What I mean is that the artefacts
are made of the same stuff as the data you want to see. The trick is
to learn what different features look like, and so to recognise things
for what they are.
Some of the artefacts I can recognise the source of but I'm not sure I
can do anything about, and others are just the nature of windowing and
filtering waves, I think. Most programs don't show you this much
detail, so you'd never know. However, I might be able to make some
progress with this once I've understood everything that is going on.
I definitely don't intend to smooth the output or anything like that.
I think it's better to see all the detail and to understand the
limitations of the method than to be given a false sense of security.
I've still got a few bugs to nail, and I've got loads and loads of
ideas of improvements to make. Once I've got this basically usable,
though, I'll try and get the thing cross-compiled for Windows.
Jim
