Dear Dave:

My main experience has been with the Mind Mirror. They supply you with a Velcro band with holes punched every 1/2 inch or so. You put the "button" through the hole and attach the snap with the wire. That holds it in place.Their process uses 4 electrodes and one ground in the center of the forehead.

I modified a standard sweatband. I glued some Velcro strips on the inside. The electrodes attach to the Velcro and are easily repositioned.

When using this, you first prepare the "buttons" with conductive paste. Then you snap the "buttons" in place on the sweatband. Then you wrap the sweatband around your head and close the Velcro fastener on the sweatband. Done.

During a long session sometimes I inject some conductive paste under the electrode that has dried out with a plastic hypodermic needle.

I would be willing to make some drawings and take some pictures if that would help. I wasn't sure if anyone would be interested.

Let me know how I can help.

How do these get secured to the head? Do you use a headband of some sort? I
am constantly looking for a better electrode solution, because I am not happy
with what I am using. Currently I have the standard cup electrodes that came
with the ProComp as well as a set of flextrodes (converted with an adapter
cable so that I can plug them into the ProComp), but am not really happy with
either. I long for the day of dry electrodes.

Before I got the flextrodes, I rigged some velcro straps to use with the
standard cup 'trodes, which worked ok, but apparently weakened the solderof a
couple of the electrodes due to stress from the velcro arrangement. Thatwas a
costly mistake since these were the electrodes that specifically came with the
ProComp. I was hoping for something easier with the flextrodes, but so far
have found them about the same in terms of time for setup and clean-up.

Do you have a feel for how your arrangement compares to something like the
BrainMaster's flextrodes?

Dave.
