In a previous life I used to be responsible for development
environments for a large group of programmers (400 of them).
The mission there was very simple but important:
1) Making sure the programmers have the tools they need
2) Making sure you can DEPLOY everywhere you need to go
This is why I have Msys and MinGW installed. Windows is the last
place I would look for a development system, but it's key to our
success in deployment. Joe NF User will almost certainly be
running windows. I will be building SDL, FFTW, and BWView from
source on windows. I will make sure Mr Meissner has a working
build environment for windows after I jump through those hoops.
I will also make an install howto for both platforms, and will
work on the automake problem.
I've been thinking a bit on OO methods, one that has interesting
implications might be eeg.setSamplingRate(120) which would send
a command to configure the Atmel microcontroller. Perhaps there
are other commands and/or responses from the microcontroller
that should be wrapped in getter and setter methods. We really
should start thinking hard about sensors as generic entities.
Namaste,
Doug
