One small problem I had with sourceforge mailing lists is that they
have the objectionable policy of forcing people to use mailing lists
with "Reply-To" turned off. They used to allow it, but they made some
policy decision, and now you can't. This means that if someone hits
"Reply", it goes back to the sender, not to the list. The only way to
easily reply to the list is to do "Reply to All", which also sends a
reply to the original poster, who then gets two copies.

I have complained about this change of policy, and they said they
would change it back to allow it, but they have done nothing so far.

Sometimes I wonder if SourceForge is getting a little too big -- there
were some worrying signs which lead to the GNU people setting up an
alternative <http://savannah.gnu.org/>. Too much power in one place?
SourceForge corrected the situation that had the GNU people worried,
but you can see the concern when so many free-software projects are
hosted in one place -- by a generous yet still commercial company.

(My SBaGen project is still hosted at <http://sbagen.sf.net/>, by the
way, and I have no plans to move it unless SourceForge really start
heading in the wrong direction. No need to panic, I think.)
