Dear Chris:
Welcome aboard:
My background is analog engineering, some digital and some software. I just retired. I ran a consulting and manufacturing company for 30 years in New Jersey. I recently moved to Virginia near Charlottesville, that is abouta 3 hour drive from you.

I have been making my own PC boards for many years. If I can be of any help please let me know.
I have also built a brain wave monitor (about 10 years ago) and have put some analog input stage information on my web site. There is also some source code to run the HC11 A/D converter and the PC monitor software to displaythe brainwaves. There are a few brain wave sample files to look at.

I worked with a Doctor in New Jersey with his invention of using electricalmuscle contractions in synchrony with the RS and T wave delay to help the heart pump with less effort in order to heal faster. I designed most of his equipment. Unfortunately getting it through the hospital testing proved to be more expensive than he could afford.

Dear all,
I might as well chip in then, since it's all gone
quiet!
I'm a biomedical engineer, and joined this list
because I'm going to be teaching bioinstrumentation
next semester. I thought building an EEG might make a
nice project for the students. We're just in the
process of buying a PCB mill, so I'm hoping to get
them to design, fabricate and populate PCBs instead of
using breadboard as they do presently.
One thing I wondered about was whether anybody had
tried using the sound card as a cheap ADC? I managed
to get some oscilloscope VB source code to read in the
data from the microphone jack, and I thought it might
be interesting to see how useful it is for
physiological signals. My main worry is that there is
probably a high-pass filter in there - anybody know?
Nice to meet you all, anyway!
Chris
