A little story here - Beleive it or not, the commercial application that I
must interface to is based NOT on 16 bits but is fundamentally limited to
12 BIT samples!!!! And that was software designed from the ground-up for
Windows!!! YUCK. They think I am nuts when I say they should use 16 bit,
so I never asked what the 32 bit floating was for.
