Do we have any open-source tools to read the com port yet?
I'm still reading through the archive, but from what I can
tell, Jim Peters has code to analyze a signal and do the
FFT, but Rob's Electric Guru is the only code around that
actually talks to the port. Is that true?
Back in high school, I had a project where we used Turbo
Pascal to control some stepper motors through the COM port.
I did the software, and a friend of mine hooked up the
circuits. I don't seem to have the code anymore but I
don't think it was all that hard.
I could probably write a simple C program to read the port
in few hours. I can't test it without a machine to hook up,
but at least it's something I could contribute. Has this
been done yet?
