Just my 0.02:
(and keeping in mind that I am not a patent attorney!) The patent only
prevents you from copying a design for commercial purposes. If you are
simply making a device for your own personal use, patent law doesn't really
apply. Additionally- brain master tech published their amplifier design
several years ago (I'm not sure of the reference, but I have it somewhere
here in my lab), along with tips for making it work safely, and etc. If
they really wanted to prevent folks from reproducing the amp, they wouldn't
have published it.
