Hi Jiva (by the way, is that Sanskrit, as in
jivanmukti?),

> Uh ... doesn't that sound a bit odd to you?

Well, it suggests to me that the business of selling
the kits means so little to them that it's not worth
the trouble of making new Gerber files (or whatever
they actually give to the fabrication house, I don't
know anything about that stuff).

This doesn't surprise me. I'd guess they sell a
couple dozen kits a year at most. If they make
$25 on each one, what's the point? It's more trouble
than it's worth.

However, if somebody comes along with a far
superior kit that they can sell at the same price,
and somebody is going to market that kit anyway
(because it will be sold in other forms), then the
new kit might be more appealing to them than the
old one.

I've worked with the HAL (adapted my program
to run with it) and it's very primitive. I believe
it was designed in 1985. Tom Collura (designer
of the BrainMaster) generously says on one of
his two BrainMaster websites that the HAL is
competitive with the BrainMaster in certain ways,
but I think he's leaning way over to be nice.

Can't hurt, and it's a lot more accurate than all
this speculation! :)

By the way, isn't this up to Joerg? Or has he
officially given these rights to the public?

Regards,

Rob
