I'm also inclined to speculate (i'm in the "unqualified
to offer a real opinion" category) that to get down to the
nitty-gritty of things (ie ... setting sample rates)
that chipset specific programming will be required. This
may mean leaning towards chipsets with best developer
support if the project moves forward at some time.
