Hi folks,
If a number of channels need to be monitored using
sound card, we need as many VCOs as the channels to be
monitored. Each will have a different center
frequency. They can be mixed together. I have
successfully tried such a system for communication
over a distance of 2km using single cable. The mixer
is even simpler than a VCO. Its just a summing
amplifier and proven design is available. But I don't
think we will be able to drive the advantage in cost
of production due to increased number of VCOs.
However, if analog multiplexer is tried the system can
become very cheap, indeed. But the problem of low
frequency response remains as it is.
