Actually, I happen to know that the Dalai Lama is meeting with
Richard Davidson of the University of Wisconsin this week. Davidson
is the guy who discovered the frontal lobe activation asymmetry in
depressive disorders. Davidson is certainly aware of EEG biofeedback,
although I don't believe he endorses it as a treatment methodology.
He's not a clinician, and tends to be rather orthodox in his views
about mental health treatment. My bet is that the D.L. already knows
something about neurotherapy. BTW, Yaniv, when I attended the D.L.'s
teaching last week in Minneapolis we were invited to write questions
for him and I wrote asking about what potential he might see for
neurotherapy (I told you I would ask) but he never got to that
question. Ah, well . . . .
