It is the same thing as with the soundcard. You will need a sort of modulator.
The possible resolution depends on the signal to noise ratio of the recorder
for an AM-type modulator. For 10 bit resolution about 60dB SNR would be
required ( 20*log(2^10) in dB ).
For a FM-type modulator the stability of the drive speed would be crucial.
