Rob--I'm a bit out of my depth with shielded electrode cables, etc.,
having mostly only used various kinds of little 10mm cup electrodes.
The one exception is on DEI equipment, which uses a shielded cable to
a rather large Ag-AgCl "active" electrode. We generally use a Velcro
strap to keep this electrode at O1, and I have usually just replaced
it with a 10mm Grass electrode for other more difficult sites like Cz
on the few occasions I've used DEI machines for anything other than
O1. What can you tell us?

I' m not sure what your question is.
Most devices have either a shielded cable with an end that allows you to
plug in your electrode leads, or you simply plug the electrodes right into
the device, which is what you do with the waverider. You need a longer
serial cable then, but that is probably the least expensive way, since it
obviates the need for a shielded cable.
