Hi,

I have the same book in dutch. In the book you find a very
long list of other readings, very good books and artikels on
different topics.

Swami Prakashanand Saraswati. They used the mind mirror
on this goeroe.

Perhaps other reading: TM Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
*The Invisible Landscape, mind hallucinogens and the
I Ching. (terence mckenna)

Also i would recommend reading about Silva Mind control.
If possible follow a basic course. You will be amazed af-
ther the 4-day's.
I am a Silva Mind Control Graduate.
There is a book on the basic course, also other books with
lots of research (incl. eeg).

When i did the course i had to much tension. Thats why i
like to use EEG. if
To me its important to use NFB so as to train my-self in
concentrating, and staying in alpha/theta.
Then learning to vivid build pictures. This combination can
be used to heal, alter conditions etc..

BTW. If you train in self-hypnosis then eeg would tell you
about your skill to get into trance. Also mind-control, this
course is expensive, but i have found out that you can do
it your-self. In the course you may not talk about your
problems, they don't deal with personal problems.
But if your read the book, you will find that the course is
simply hypnosis, visualisation.
In the book it takes about a month or so to be able to go
into alpha, in the course (8 ours a day), it takes one or two
day (ver intensive hypnosis)..
However, if you have dicipline, and an eeg or other bfb, then
you could do the same in a few sessions. most of time the
so called graduates from mind control wil do the basic course again to become skill-full in alpha. With NFB/BFB
one can train much better. Afther that one can do the ohter
drills just like that.

If your have an eeg and you can read good books, you can
do lots of things.
If you do not have an eeg yet, i would recommend the ceo
one channel wave rider. its the most in-expensive eeg in
the market.

Best
Frans

I have an old publication of the mind mirror
with some description of those states.

If you guys are interested, I can scan it and
email it to the group.

Hi Sky,

You a pilot by any chance?

Right at the top let me mention that you'll
probably get a much more complete answer to
this question on some other lists -- the psyphi
list comes to mind.

Many scientific papers have been published on
EEG in experienced meditators while they are
meditating. I can't recall any of the papers
actually saying "subject 9 was enlightened"
but occasionally they do say things like "subject
9 was regarded by his peers as having reached
the highest stage..."

EEG differences have been found between
meditators and non-meditators. Differences
have also been found between practitioners of
classical Yoga meditation and Zen
meditation. The latter difference was the subject
of quite a bit of research and it involves something
called "alpha blocking."

Oh wait -- before I get to the scientific papers,
there is C. Maxwell Cade, the psychologist who
invented the Mind Mirror, the NFB machine
which is now emulated by practically every
NFB program in existence. His book "The
Awakened Mind" goes into detail about states
of enlightenment (he numbers them from 5 to
8) and about the corresponding EEGs. Cade's
book is out of print but you can easily find a
copy on the website of Advanced Book
Exchange (I buy a lot of used books, I've found
that exchange to be best because it seems to be
the biggest and the vendors don't seem to pass
along a higher fee to you for using it).

C. Maxwell Cade has a sort of protege, Anna
Wise, who wrote a book called "The High
Performance Mind." I think it has some similar
info but can't find my copy at the moment to check.

Back to the papers. I imagine you can find them
pretty easily in a university library but if you want
to buy them, some of are available in three anthologies
that I know of. Unfortunately all out of print but
you can get them pretty easily on the Web:

"Altered States" by Charles T. Tart, Harper
Collins. Last time I checked the author's website
he had some new copies for sale. There are at
least two papers on this subject in this book.

"Meditation: Classic and Contemporary Perspectives"
edited by Deane H. Shapiro, Jr. and Rober N. Walsh.
There are seven papers on the subject in this book.
There's a review of this book on my website at
http://www.realization.org/page/doc0/doc0082.htm.

There's also a big anthology of papers on
feedback published by Aldine in 1984 (I think
1984) that has papers on this subject but I loaned
it to a friend so I'm not sure.

Regards,

Rob
