Many thanks for this. When you were talking about a patent before, I
didn't realize it was *your* patent. For anyone else who is
interested, the Patent number is 5,135,468 and you can find it on:

http://patft.uspto.gov/netahtml/srchnum.htm

In the end I found myself downloading the 21 TIF images by hand as
neither IE or Opera seemed to know how to handle them:

I've got this printed up now, so I'll have a good look and let you
know if I have any questions.

If I do decide to put this into a utility, I would distribute it as
freeware (like SBaGen), so I wouldn't make anything out of it. Most
of the users would be making personal use only. However, I guess
there is a chance that someone might want to make commercial use. For
this reason I would include a notice covering what you said above,
which would appear when the program runs, with a link to your site.

Would this be okay ?

Jim

P.S. I would be better to include the features in the SBaGen package,
but I'd rather keep SBaGen free from use restrictions (which is
required for some forms of freeware redistribution).

P.P.S. For some reason this story has come to mind to tell, regarding
`commercial interest': Since I released SBaGen a while back, I've had
quite a lot of people contact me, including several people from the
US asking me to join them as `partners' in some crazy scheme they've
devised to make money from binaurals. (Partners == no money up
front). One guy went so far as to see if I would do backing sounds
for a tape, so I put together a sample MP3 of 2 minutes of heavily
filtered noise from a surf sounds generator circuit, plus some
nice-sounding binaural tones on top, fading in and out at the start
and end. After sending the MP3, I never heard from him again. I
imagine all those relaxation tapes he's selling now, all based on
repeating my 2-minute MP3. Oh dear ! He's probably claiming all
kinds of nonsense and benefits for them -- "with added binaural
technology", or something like that. What can you do !?
