Look -- I'm not an electronics guru, and I've already tried to find
the AVR parts once and failed. I just want something I can put
together relatively easily as a temporary solution until the designs
are fully tested and finalized.
Can someone point out to me a good tested input stage that I can build
without etching anything or programming any microcontrollers and which
will work as I hope (for basic testing using soundcard input), or else
give me a good reason why I should forget it ?
Given my lack of electronics skills beyond soldering and using a
multimeter, I'm looking for the shortest path to getting something to
test with, with the lowest chance of me making a mistake I'll not be
able to detect or fix.
The least number of unknowns the better, and for me etching and uC
programming are unknowns, and my sound-card input performance is a
known. I reckon I can build and test an analogue circuit if someone
can recommend one.
Once I have something basic working then I can get back to coding,
which is how I can help the most, I think.
