Wouldn't it be better to watch the road instead of
that excellent hanDsprinG visor lcd screen<;-P> ...

{ Wonder what the pocket-EEG would then show after
a pass by one of those air-cleansing monster-
suvs ... }

But, to something safer than running into red ligths
discrict,s. that can be useful for the EEG project
embedded part :

Btw, there is very inexpensive, and good, and low
power-consumption chip with low-priced kits and
compilers for those who still study engineering or
software, namely, the dsp56F8xx series from Motorola,
I bought myself a kit from Digi-Key, the chip runs
at 40 mips, very low cost, $14 a piece from Digi,
has single-cycle multiply etc. power-consumption
relative to clock speed like usual, and, chip has
63-k byte of flash on-chip, programmable ISP with
the motorola Jtag port, kits are $370, Codewarrior
nice C-development/Debugger tool $149 with academic
discount, hard to beat with StrongArm or anything
else. The chips have SPI, UART, CAN, codecs, io,
nice !

That is what I got for my project, ( for which I
am writing my own code, so I do not have to be
bogged down by the desktop lx/os-type paradigms
taht usually slow and unnecessarily could complicate
things as well, and as it seems that most people
need something different, they all may as well go
ahead and do their own different stuffs. As there
is probably no-one that would be doing what I am
planning to do, I will not bother anyone with details
of the embedded software version, however, I am happy
to help almost anyone who is interested of the
dsp56F8xx hardware and the evm-kit, beatifully working
board and compiler, and nice-priced medium-power
chip that is in nice small 100 pin qfp that is smaller
than most any other chips of similar computing power
and with same size internal flash memory ).

If anyone needs info, please write privately,as
read the list fairly rarely, due to high noise/signal
ratio, majority of messages not relating to the
engineering aspects that are the lifeblood of any
engineering project. Paxil or hammer cures all the
other aspects, really won't be loosing time to those
other aspects, but hope other people find such
discussions beneficial.
