I hear that. You have had a longer history here than I. Hacking together a
program *is* easy. Planning to do it well is not. Over the past year, I have
been spending a lot of my time researching, training, designing; trying to nail
down what I need to know and how I need to go about it. As far as concrete
coding, I have only been working on the data acquisition end of things and
solidifying how I wanted to structure the project -- spending time on such
issues as internationalization, error handling, logging, internal
documentation, etc. I can post that stuff which is all under Linux, but it is
only data acquisition and has no user interface (other than comman line).

Well, as Jim P. did, I can continue to work on the Linux stuff and make it
available. It would not be wasted effort even if I ended up throwing the whole
thing away, as I know that it will be useful experience for me. So I'll do
that while we work toward that "something" here in terms of John's plug-in
design ideas.
