Ok; this is exciting, because this is exactly the direction I want to head.
When I began experiencing dreaming consciously, I realized that something was
missing in the usual way we experience consciousness; and that there was a
bridged state that was neither waking consciousness, nor sleeping
consciousness. It was a third state altogether. At that point I began doing
some searching into what was happening to me and came across the whole field of
lucid dreaming. Then I started reading stuff from Maxwell Cade, and that the
key was not to exhibit one particular frequency, but a combination of
frequencies of varying amplitudes.
And concerning the higher frequencies you mentioned, I read a very engaging
book that you might enjoy. From my website:
http://www.psychosensory.com/resources.html#philosophy
SQ : Connecting with our Spiritual Intelligence by Danha Zohar & Dr. Ian
Marshall - An incredible work speaking to an area of human experience in terms
of spiritual intelligence, or how we come to meaning, value, and vision. One
notable chapter speaks of a particular brainwave cycle occurring between 35 Hz
- 45 Hz which relates to the formation and maturation of spiritual
intelligence, and our ability to experience unitive thinking processes.
I wish I had more time to talk about this now because it is fascinating, but I
have a guest here this weekend and don't want to ignore her. So I put her on
the therapy sound table so that I could eek away some moments to write. :)
But what I want to be able to do is code the methods (using light, sound, and
perhaps some verbal guidance) to coax the high amplitudes you speak of, because
when it all comes down to it, we need to move our minds in such a way that is
integrative and moves in healthy directions away from this one dominant
state-rut that we have co-created. This is the area where waking/sleeping,
conscious/unconscious, all break down because we are operating at higher
amplitudes of all these frequencies.
But what is also very important to me is not just that we are able to exhibit
these frequencies, but what we do with them. So the backdrop, or direction for
me, is to provide a means with which people can become more attuned to their
own inner world, the inner worlds of others, and how that manifests in this
external world that is rife with division. Ugh; that's not expressed very
well. Essentially it is the healing work of compassion so that we can become
more empathetic, able to appreciate and thrive in difference and attend to
social wounds. But this takes a certain emotional and mental agility that I
think can be cultivated by using western and eastern tools we talk about here.
I also have an EEG recording that I would like to share from someone in a
non-ordinary state of consciousness, but am not sure what format the BioGraph
software is using to store it. My guess is that it is proprietary, but I just
have not had time to backwards engineer it. They say they store it in raw
format, which I would gather would mean that there is no translation of the
data stream, but they store it as-is from the EEG encoder. However, if you
think these would be helpful to you, please contact me off-list
(dfisher_at_pophost.com) and I'll send them off to you as well as a means to read
them.
How wonderful to be here--I should have 'un-lurked' a long time ago! :)
